Advisory Board
Jessie Nagel, HypeWorld
In 1997, after working as a publicist and creative director in the commercial industry for six years, Jessie developed a master plan to create Hype—a sassy boutique communications agency—with the dynamic Colleen O’Mara. After working with independent filmmakers, promoting festivals, and organizing panels for a number of years, Jessie decided to apply this experience to launch and develop HypeFest.
Raised in Vancouver, BC (ref. Douglas Coupland’s Souvenir of Canada), Jessie attended San Francisco State University and earned an honors degree in Film Theory/Fine Arts and was a few credits shy of a minor in pretentiousness (though she was later given an honorary degree by the SFSU interpretive dance department).
Jessie’s appreciation for the entertainment industry extends to her "spare" time. Known to her patient friends and family for her detailed film critiques, Jessie attends as many screenings as possible.
Douglas Woods, Producer/Art Director
After hanging up the Roller-skates, Dolphin Shorts and Prune Juice Binging...and after a decade of Club Owning, Rock and Roll Managing and Educational Refinement in Tucson, AZ - Douglas D. Woods arrived in Los Angeles with nothing but a student loan.
Immediately, he began a new career path in production and eventually ascended into Producing and Production Design on Film and Television. Today, Doug is Balancing Career, Family Life (1 Wife + 2 kids) and Friendships somehow successfully while maintaining an always fresh outlook on humanity and it's cause. With over 10 years of commercial production experience, Doug has worked for some of the industry’s biggest companies; American Express, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Budweiser and Lexus just to name just a few.
